Introduction

About Data2Evidence

Data2Evidence is an open source end-to-end platform for managing healthcare data and analyzing it for generating insights.

The platform stores structured and unstructured clinical information from various sources including electronic health records, lab records, image metadata, and even text documents like clinician notes. Users can ingest, monitor data quality, and store data with fine grained access control. Users can also explore data and request access to it.

The Researcher Portal

The Researcher Portal integrates various functionalities, like: data source catalog, data quality results, vocabulary search, concept sets, data exploration, cohort definitions, data source reports, characterizations, cohort pathways, incidence rates, and support for OHDSI network studies.

If you are familiar with the OHDSI ecosystem, most of the Researcher Portal will look familiar. The Getting around page lists what is different in Data2Evidence. For the other OHDSI tools Data2Evidence integrates, see OHDSI tools in Data2Evidence.

The ATLAS user manual

The ATLAS user manual describes the ATLAS features in detail. Some parts of the manual do not apply to Data2Evidence, for example signing in, the installation appendix, and personal API keys. Where Data2Evidence works differently, this guide takes precedence.

Intended use

This platform is a research tool intended to support research work. It is not intended to be used for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.

Requirements

Ensure you are using an up-to-date version of a supported Web browser (Chrome or Firefox) and your screen resolution is high enough to display the entire application.

User roles in Data2Evidence

User roles determine the tasks you can perform when you sign in to the Data2Evidence platform. The key roles are:

  • Viewer: Can view and request access to data sources.
  • Researcher: Can view data sources, build concept sets, explore data, create cohorts, and run analyses on the data sources they have access to.
  • Administrator: Can manage data sources, add users, and perform other administrative tasks.

Your administrator assigns roles in the Admin Portal.
