OHDSI tools in Data2Evidence
Data2Evidence integrates tools from the OHDSI open source community. If you know them from elsewhere, this page shows where you find them in Data2Evidence.
Data model and vocabularies
OMOP Common Data Model
The OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) is the standard data model all OHDSI tools work on. Data2Evidence uses it for the data sources you explore and analyze.
Athena vocabularies
Athena provides the OHDSI standardized vocabularies, such as SNOMED CT, RxNorm and LOINC. Every concept you search for and every concept set you build comes from these vocabularies.
In Data2Evidence: your administrator loads the vocabularies during setup. See Load Athena vocabularies.
Researcher Portal
ATLAS 3 and WebAPI
ATLAS is the OHDSI web application for vocabulary search, concept sets, cohort definitions and analyses such as characterizations, cohort pathways and incidence rates. WebAPI is the service behind it.
In Data2Evidence: the Researcher Portal integrates ATLAS 3. You use it under Concepts, Cohort Definitions and Analysis. See Concepts and concept sets, Cohort definitions and Analyses.
PhenotypeLibrary
The OHDSI PhenotypeLibrary is a collection of reviewed cohort definitions for common conditions and treatments.
In Data2Evidence: your administrator can import the library. Its cohort definitions then appear in Cohort Definitions with the tag Phenotype Library, ready to reuse or adapt.
Data characterization and data quality
Achilles
Achilles computes descriptive statistics of a data source: the number of persons, their demographics, observation time, and the most frequent conditions, drugs and other records.
In Data2Evidence: your administrator runs the data characterization job. The results appear in the Dashboard, Data Density, Demographics and Clinical Domains pages of a data source. See Data sources.
Data Quality Dashboard
The Data Quality Dashboard (DQD) runs several thousand checks on a data source and groups the results into plausibility, conformance and completeness.
In Data2Evidence: your administrator runs the data quality job. The results appear on the Data quality dashboard page of a data source. See Data sources.
Studies and analysis packages
Strategus
Strategus describes a study as an analysis specification: a set of OHDSI analyses that can be run the same way on many data sources.
In Data2Evidence: select New Study under Studies to create a Strategus analysis specification. See Studies and notebooks.
HADES
HADES is the OHDSI collection of R packages for large-scale analytics, such as cohort generation, cohort diagnostics, characterization, population-level estimation and prediction.
In Data2Evidence: HADES is included.
Demo data
Broadsea
Broadsea packages the OHDSI tools as Docker containers. Its demo database is one way to get a working data source into Data2Evidence quickly.
In Data2Evidence: your administrator can load the Broadsea demo database. See Broadsea-atlasdb.
